Star studded nights, stellar performances, fun filled contests and an electric environment that will sweep you off your feet, come February and you will get all this and much more as IIT Guwahati puts up the XTREME edition of ALCHERINGA ,its annual cultural fest. Alcheringa (meaning dream time in the Australian tongue) is the biggest cultural extravaganza in the north east and it gets even bigger this year with loads of exciting events that will definitely make your ‘Alcher’ event one to cherish.
ALCHERINGA 2010 is being held from 5th to 7th February and various colleges from across the country will be heading to Guwahati to be a part of this fest. Heading the list of the most awaited events are the proshows which include a performance by the music ‘gurus’, the famous trio of Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy who have the country grooving to their beats. Other well known celebrities like famous comedian Vir Das and Tushar Raheja, author of the best seller ‘Anything for you ma’am’ will also be present for the fest.
Also, there are competitions such as Electric Heels, the dance and choreography competition where groovy steps, funky beats and rocking performances will set the stage ablaze. For all the lovers of rock, there is Rock o Phonix, the biggest showdown between rock
bands from all across india which will have the crowds in a frenzy for sure. The fashion enthusiasts can have their share of fun in Hot Couture, the fashion show where participants will be strutting the stage in their own creations. The Tansens of today will test their vocal chords in Unplugged , the competition for the singers.
Alfaaz, the literary fest of iit g, will also be held this time along with Alcheringa. Besides these are events like MTV stunt mania, Crush, Alcher Roadies, Two Steps, Theatrix… the list is endless.
Alcheringa xtreme guarantees you three days of sheer excitement,fun and enjoyment. This is one fest nobody should miss. So come be a part of
