We at Shiv Nadar University, near Greater Noida, are Proud to announce a 2 day inter college festival BREEZE 2012 to be held on 29th and 30th March 2012 from 10am onwards. The fiesta will be a glamorous affair which would attract students from colleges in and around Delhi, NCR region to compete on a large scale and showcase their talent. The Star would be the major attraction where PARIKRAMA BAND would be performing. PARIKRAMA BAND would be performing from 6.30 PM Onwards. CodeCracker is a fully automated online programming contest judge system designed and implemented by GLUG members of NIT Durgapur.The main drive and motivation behind this project is to inculcate the culture of programming among students, helping them understand the importance of algorithms as a problem solving tool, and making them recognise the power of GNU/Linux as a powerful programming platform.The judge is built using opensource technologies and tools. So come, code, challenge yourself… prove your intelligence and win recognition for yourself and your college.

About us and MUKTI:

Linux Users’ Group, NIT Durgapur was formed to popularize Linux and Open Source softwares beyond the silicon branches and to the masses in common. It triggers certification courses on Linux, Java and other technologies, along with seminars and tutorials. It organizes an annual national level technical symposium on Linux and FOSS called “MUKTI”, to provide a platform for students, nationwide, to share their knowledge and intellect.

We have been very influential in bringing many eminent personalities like Dr. Sumitabha Das, to name a few, on the platform of MUKTI to inspire students to join the Open Source bandwagon.

We have always believed in the philosophy of sharing what you we have achieved. Thus, whatever we do is documented in our blogs for the perusal of all.

Linux Users’ Group boasts to be the largest club in N.I.T. Durgapur in term of members that show their solidarity towards Linux. In subsequent years LUG NITDGP continued to spread the message of Linux through workshops, competitions, basic Linux classes and patronizing various courses at highly discounted rates that helped us spread Linux within the campus.

The games conceived and developed by various forums (student groups) attract high level of the participation as they have been carefully nurtured under the guidance of our eminent faculty which includes emeritus professors from some of the best B-schools in the world like Berkeley, Cornell, Stern, IIM and XLRI.
The theme for Pragati’12 is ‘Black Swan’.A Black Swan event is a highly unexpected event, which has a huge impact and which seems predictable in hindsight.
With Pragati 2012, Amrita School of Business tries to prepare future managers to utilize opportunities in Black Swan events and also build robustness against its threats through the different games implemented based on the theme.

“COMPUDON 2011″ is INDIA’s 1^st Ever Official Championship on Microsoft Office,which will be testing students’ skills through Microsoft® Office Specialist(MOS) certification exam on any one application from Microsoft Office Word, Excel® and PowerPoint®. The 5 India Champions(1 each in Word/Excel®/PowerPoint® 2007 &Word /Excel®2010) will represent India and compete at the Worldwide Competition organized by Certiport between July 31, 2011 – August 03, 2011 in San Diego (USA).

ELIGIBILITY :-Any student of the age group between 13 to 22 years (as of June 15, 2011) can participate in the initial round of COMPUDON. However, to participate in the Worldwide Competition, candidates must be students that are enrolled in an approved, degree-seeking academic institution recognized by the state or center in which it operates. Students participating in COMPUDON must be able to provide proof of age and student status upon request. Employees of CyberLearning and its affiliates, subsidiaries, parent and related companies and agencies and those individuals living in the same household as employees are not eligible.As per the eligibility criteria of COMPUDON, a student enrolled in an approved, degree-seeking recognized academic institution. We recommend students to get enrolled through their school/college. Students may also appear for an exam at the nearest Authorized Testing Center – ATC, by paying the proctoring fee. List of ATCs is available at www.cyberlearningindia.com For schools/colleges, who want to participate in COMPUDON 2011, we recommend minimum participation of 50 students or more. In addition to the awards and recognition for the students, COMPUDON 2011 is also a great opportunity for educational institutes to showcase themselves at a global platform which also provides great awards and recognition for to the faculty coordinators and the heads of institutes.
