Details of Deepwoods 2010 :

If our mundane lives were to be described as a continuous curve, barring the odd trip here and there, Deepwoods is that screaming break that jolts us skyward. As February approaches, Deepwoods beckons us once again.
Three days of peace and ‘joie de vivre’ amidst intense competition among the students of numerous colleges from around the city in the serene 365 acre campus in Tambaram has in the past successfully provided a sound forum for young minds to prove their mettle in the fields of both Literary and Cultural events whilst providing a laid-back atmosphere unlike most conventional festivals.
Like all the preceding years, this year too, we present to you an array of literary & debating and cultural events over a period of three days. Deepwoods kicks off on the 10th of February, and proceeds over the 11th and the 12th of February.
Deepwoods upholds the tradition of Madras Christian College and this year, celebrating the 30th year of Deepwoods, we dedicate it to the great minds that initiated and ran the event for 29 successful years, providing a launch pad for many a youngster’s career.
Thus, in conclusion, Madras Christian College opens its gates to all those willing to enter a pristine campus and to partake in what is, contrary to popular notion, a truly educational experience (if academics were the only form of education, we’d all be extremely mundane) and desires to foster firm consanguinity amongst those competing while having a fun experience overall.

Events @ Deepwoods 2010 :

This year, Deepwoods promises to be bigger, better and louder than ever before. The Literary events including conventional ones like ‘Debate’, ‘Just-A-Minute’ and ‘Quiz’ while still functionary have been interspersed with new interesting yet frolic-filled events such as Medley and the Music Quiz. The cultural events include the ‘Fashion Show’ and the Western Electrics and Acoustic competitions along with the inter-collegiate dance and regional music (‘Light Music’) competitions which have seen a massive footfall every year.
