ABOUT BREAK THROUGH 2012:

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras will conduct Breakthrough 2012, a technical entrepreneurship competition which is to be held on second week of May, 2012.

Breakthrough 2012 is a technical entrepreneurship competition that aims at bringing about a confluence of students, entrepreneurs, NGOs, innovators, incubators, corporates and financers and creating a holistic platform for the initiation and development of exemplary technical enterprise models.

Breakthrough 2012 aims at establishing a breakthrough in the field of science and technology. It aptly describes this business plan competition, which is about “initiating innovations” that combine enterprise with technical responsibility.

The competition also aims to develop an eco-system surrounding technical entrepreneurship that brings together students, NGOs, incubators, social entrepreneurs, venture-capitalists and corporations.

The focus is on developing a symbiotic relationship among a group of individuals having different skill-sets but who are driven by same ideals and can aid in capturing, enhancing and disseminating knowledge on technical entrepreneurship.
