A startup based in a remote rural town, trying to solve the nation’s healthcare problem, going on to win every major business challenge in the world and then getting acquired by one of the largest healthcare companies in India.

Conquest 2011, one of the most startup friendly competitions, saw all the 10 finalists successfully start their ventures. So, if you have a startup that needs more resources to scale up, apply to Conquest 2012. To apply, fill up the application form by 30th May 2012.

Event Details

All participating teams must satisfy at least one of the following eligibility criteria:

• The team should comprise of at least one individual who has enrolled in an accredited college or University before 15th March 2012; or
• The team should not have registered their business before 1st January 2011.

Highlights of the Event

Here are some of the incentives to apply -

1. Top 35 startups get a chance to interact with mentors face to face at a city of their choice.
2. And then 10 or more startups can secure incubation at a place of their choice along with angel investment opportunities of up to USD 800,000.
3. Even if you are at an idea stage, you are provided intensive training and can secure seed fund up to USD 20,000.
4. Resources like free website, legal support, cloud technology support and more.

An efficient and practical Business plan leads an Entrepreneur to the path of success. We the members IEEE Student Branch, DA-IICT in collaboration with Center for Entrepreneurship and Incubation at DA-IICT (CEID) present B2B – the B Plan competition under its technical festival i.fest,2011, to provide a platform to the young minds with entrepreneurship bent to come up with an B-Plan and showcase their talent.

Event Structure -B2B Competition

B2B will be organised in two phases :

Phase I:

Submission of Executive Summary Executive Summary is considered to be the most important part of a Business Plan. It summarizes the business proposition, key financial projections, where the business stands at present and elements that are critical for success.

Phase II:

 Final Presentation of the B-Plan Top five teams selected by our judges would be called to DA-IICT to present their complete Business Plan in front of a panel of judges who would decide the winner based on various aspects of a running a successful business.

About Indore B-School League(IBL-IIM, Indore)

IIM Indore is organizing Indore B-School League (IBL), a Socio-management festival as part of the annual National Youth Conference to mark the momentous occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. IBL is a first-of-its-kind event in B-School circuit specially designed for the MBA students of the city of Indore. It aims to provide a golden opportunity to future managers of Indore to blend their management learning, leadership qualities and awareness about the socio-economic milieu of the city for addressing its pressing civic and social issues. IBL v1.o, launched on December 8, 2010 and will reach a crescendo on January 11, 2011. The event is open to the top 20 MBA colleges in Indore. Each college will be represented by a team of 10 for the major rounds. The events will broadly comprise of case studies, campaigns, quizzes, puzzles and debates covering areas of Marketing, Finance, Consulting, Human Resource, IT and Operations. The event will be conducted in online format through the website. At the end of 3 weeks, top 5 teams will be selected to compete for the title. The grand finale will be held at IIM Indore.

Events at Indore B-School League (IBL-IIM, Indore)

Fin-Ish is a pecuniary challenge meant to test the financial acumen and astuteness of the contestants. The event is in the form of a Trading Simulation game in which the team with the highest returns at the end will be declared the winner.

Mark-I is meant to test the marketing skills of the contestants. The competing teams will launch comprehensive marketing campaigns on the theme of ‘Green Indore’. The most effective campaign will bag the prestigious Mark-I prize.

Recruiters-I is a rigorous recruitment process simulation game meant to be as real an HR activity as it could be. The candidates recommended by the contesting teams will be matched with the actual recruits in a real organisation. The closest list wins Recruiters-I!

Consult-I is a live consulting project on an NGO. It’s an ultimate challenge asking teams to identify the issues plaguing the organisation, generate alternative solutions for it and propose the best possible under the given circumstances.

OpRo-I is an intensive real life case study on the operations part of one of the departments of Indore district administration. The contesting teams need to don the mantle of the project manager of a challenging project who has to plan in a methodical manner the successful execution of the task at hand.

Systemat-I is a decisive debate on the potential role of Information and Communication  technology (ICT) in governance, meant to harbinger an effective, efficient and transparent administration.

About The Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition™ 2010

The Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition™ Asia’s first and most prestigious sustainable/clean technology business plan competition, founded in 2007, is the brainchild of Oopali Operajita, CEO, Cicero, A Trans National Advisory, a Senior Political and International Affairs Adviser to several of India’s prominent political leaders and a former Distinguished Faculty Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, USA. Operajita was appointed at Carnegie Mellon by its legendary founder-president, President Richard Cyert, and she firmly established India and India studies there, as far back as 1989, bringing India’s ambassadors and leaders to visit campus for the first time. Operajita thought up an exclusive All India Sustainable Technology Venture Competition in honour of Vice President and Nobel laureate Al Gore. TECH ZEPHYR is the annual Technical Extravaganza of LTCoE. Since 1995 the college had 5 different technical festivals one for each department. In the academic year 2006-07 all the Tech-Fests were combined together and it gave birth to TECH ZEPHYR. In 2007-08, we got TECH ZEPHYR service marked. TECH ZEPHYR is an intercollegiate technical festival which is recognized as a premier event of its kind in the youth Demographic.Over the years TECH ZEPHYR has established itself as the premier event of its kind on the youth circuit of Mumbai, a celebration featuring the technological advancements of the society of the rapidly developing world.With over 20 events, scheduled for 2 days the foot-falls for TECH ZEPHYR was more than 4000 and is expected to touch around 7000 foot-falls in TECH ZEPHYR 2010, it being a NATIONAL event.
