Can you imagine a bunch of 23 year old graduates getting funded by Sequoia Capital?

A startup based in a remote rural town, trying to solve the nation’s healthcare problem, going on to win every major business challenge in the world and then getting acquired by one of the largest healthcare companies in India.

What’s common to both of these?
They started their journey with Conquest.

Conquest 2011, one of the most startup friendly competitions, saw all the 10 finalists successfully start their ventures. So, if you have a startup that needs more resources to scale up, apply to Conquest 2012. To apply, fill up the application form by 30th May 2012.

Event Details

All participating teams must satisfy at least one of the following eligibility criteria:

• The team should comprise of at least one individual who has enrolled in an accredited college or University before 15th March 2012; or
• The team should not have registered their business before 1st January 2011.

Highlights of the Event

Here are some of the incentives to apply -

1. Top 35 startups get a chance to interact with mentors face to face at a city of their choice.
2. And then 10 or more startups can secure incubation at a place of their choice along with angel investment opportunities of up to USD 800,000.
3. Even if you are at an idea stage, you are provided intensive training and can secure seed fund up to USD 20,000.
4. Resources like free website, legal support, cloud technology support and more.

The North-East Through My Eyes Photo Contest, 2012 is organized by Eastern Fare Music Foundation and Moderators of North-East India Community on Facebook. To learn more about the organizers visit www.easternfare.com and www.facebook.com/northeastindia.

Photos will be accepted for entry in the contest from February 17, 2012 until March 20, 2012. The contest is open to all. Only one photo per person is allowed. Photo entry must be taken in North-East India. The photo should be submitted through e-mail only. Each entry should consist a single photograph. An entrant may submit only one photograph. There is no entry fee for this contest. The photo along with a form should be sent to northeastindia@easternfare.com.

Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology is organizing an online coding contest- Code Mutants as a part of Synapse 2012- annual techno-cultural fest, in association with IEEE Gujarat Section. This is a call for participation for the same.

BYTES: BYTES is an online programming contest where the participants have 4 hours to solve the challenging problems (in C/C++) given to them.

ETHER AVATAR: Troika 2012 brings to you Ether Avatar, the LAN Quizzing event worth dying for. With a plethora of fields to choose from, the participants are offered the opportunity to play the game on their own turf, succeeding in which, they enter the subsequent round.
