Details of Pratishruti 2009:

Pratishruti is the annual cultural fest organized every year by SRKNEC . This cultural extravaganza provides a platform for all youngsters to show their talent, and develop their innovative and creative self. It is a 5 day event in which over 80 colleges across Nagpur participate, and over 6000 students contribute to make it a great success.  This being the silver jubilee of the college, Pratishruti has been elevated to a grander level altogether.

Pratishruti gives a platform wherein students can test their dancing, singing, and performing skills through events like Rock 2 Raag (singing competition),Clash of the TITANs (a debate competition), Supernova(Personality contest) etc.’Literary Events’ would commence with great fanfarewhich includes Scrable,Spellathon,Pictionary and Crossword.Pratishruti offers you an excellent chance to unleash the comedy, poetry or mimicry in you with an elaborate ‘Rangmanch’ (Talent Hunt competition).  Poetry recitation and Debate provide an opportunity to set the stage on fire, and events like creative writing, on-spot Hindi essay bring out your flare for writing.If  you think you are the M.F. Hussain of the college then clash with the titans in the competition of ‘Art and Design’ which is consist of Themes, Wall Painting, Clay Modeling and many more..

Over the years, it has grown into an establishment working towards the development of art and culture in various fields apart from music and dance, such as acting, drawing, painting and designing etc.

Most data collected and stored in machines is of audio and video type. Indexing and retrieval of this data poses several signal processing challenges. Progress in processing image and speech data will have tremendous impact on the applications of information technology.

It is in this context the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Chennai and the Indian National Academy of Engineering jointly organized the first WISP in 2006 at IIT Madras. WISP-2007 and WISP-2008 were organized jointly by the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad, the IIT Guwahati and the C. R. Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (AIMSCS), Hyderabad.

Workshop on Image and Speech Processing- WISP-2009 is being organized by IIIT Hyderabad and CRRao AIMSCS Hyderabad on 19^th December 2009 at IIIT Hyderabad. The objective of this one day workshop is to provide an opportunity for students, faculty, scientists and engineers to interact with leading researchers in speech, biometrics, phonetics, image and signal processing areas. The workshop includes invited talks from experts in these and related areas from India and abroad. Researchers in academic, government and industrial organizations are encouraged to participate in the workshop.

The Competition seeks to help the students of law to develop their research abilities and improve their writing skills. This year, the student can choose any of the four topics:

Domicile as a basis for Quota in Educational Institutions: Constitutional Issues
Constitutional Status of Political Parties
The Constitution in the Light of Coalition Government

A Registration fee of Rs. 100 is required for participation. Paper should not be of less than 6,000 words or more than 8,000 words. Two prizes of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 8,000 respectively are to be distributed. Consolation prizes may be awarded. All participating students will be issued a certificate of participation.
