About Mood Indigo 2010,

MOOD INDIGO, or MoodI, the Annual Cultural Festival of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Held towards the end of December every year, i attract a whopping 72,000 students from more than 500 colleges all over the country.  Started in 1971 by a bunch of enthusiastic IITians, Mood Indigo has now snowballed to become the largest festival of it’s kind in Asia. The colour chosen to be representative of the Mood was Indigo – a fusion of Red and Blue. Red for the warmth and passion of an artistic adventure, blue for the originality of the rational mind, giving Indigo – the symbol of creativity and intellectualism.
This year Mood Indigo 2010 promises to be much more fun,entertaining, exuberant and to get your Mood High!!
Mood Indigo being a leader amongst all the college festivals of the country has always set trends, standing strong on it’s core values & principles described below.

ELEKTROFAD 2011 is an All India Inter-Collegiate Technical Symposium, organized by the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Pondicherry Engineering College, on January 20 & 21, 2011, to promote the spirit of competition among the youth. Many colleges from all over the country participate and a magazine is also released as a part of the symposium. With each passing year, the grandeur increases and the legacy continues this year too. We, the staff and students of EEE department, welcome you and we need your support to make the event a grand success!!!

Paper Presentation

1. Any Topic related to the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering can be chosen.
2. Maximum number of authors per paper is TWO. All authors should be of the same college. However they can be from different departments also.
3. Only One Entry is permitted per participant in the event.
4. The same author should not be part of two different papers. Failing which will lead to disqualification of both the papers.
5. The completed abstract should not exceed 200 words.
6. The abstracts should be either in doc or pdf format.
7. Submit your abstract by uploading your document in the Registration Module for Slide Ride (Paper Presentation), in our website by clicking here
8. The last date for Submission of Abstract is 12th January, 2011. Entries after the mentioned deadline shall not be entertained.
9. All Authors of Selected/Wait-listed Abstracts shall be intimated on: 13th January, 2011. The results of the same will be put on the website.
10. Authors’ Innovation and Contribution to the paper will play a major role in Abstract Shortlist Procedure. Authors are encouraged to attach Simulation Results (if any) along with the abstract.

About Pondicherry Engineering College:

Pondicherry Engineering College , one of the premier institutes of the Indian Subcontinent is established in the year 1984 under the VII five-year plan in the union territory ofPuducherry . The institute celebrates “twenty five years of steady growth in strength, quality” this year. The college is administered by a board of governors headed by the Chief Secretary of Puducherry. The college is academically affiliated to the Pondicherry University , a central university. The institute offers eight undergraduate and eleven postgraduate and PhD programmes in major fields of engineering and technology. Aavishkaar is the annual technical fest conducted by IEEE MSRIT Student  Branch. It was started in the year 2004 by the first IEEE MSRIT executive committee. It was considered to be one of the best and most competitive events that year.

• Details about each event:

Algomach( On spot Programming): Commonly known as OSP, this event is the staple event of technical fests all over the world. Programmers must design programs to solve problems within a short time span. The preliminary round will be a written round which will test the basic programming skills. In final round the teams must code hands on. The code will be automatically Judged by an electronic evaluators.

Design and Debugging: Contestant will be given a set of problems and they will have to solve it by designing a new circuit or debug existing hardware. This event will be conducted in two rounds, One written and another the live round with Hardware provided

Robotics: This event challenges building robotics engineers and their ability to implement their ideas. this event will host a set of challenges to test the participant’s robot. The participants are required  to build and bring their own robots to the competition. The description of the event and the specifications of the robot will be uploaded on fest website one week prior to event.

Cyber Treasure Hunt: This event tests the participants’ ability to solve problems and puzzles while they make their way through a sequence of web pages that provides the next challenge. Participants can take part individually or in teams of 2. Team/individual who is able to complete the entire set of obstacles in the fastest(or one who is fastest along 90 mins) wins the event.

Gaming: Aavishkaar 2010 will feature three games Counter Strike (team game) FIFA 2009(solo event) and Need for Speed Most Wanted(Solo event). As a less formal event, it draws interested gamers from all walks to showcase their skills against other gamers. The event is run in an elimination system, until the top two teams/players battle it out for the ultimate glory.

Paper Presentation: Technical Papers describing original research contributions are solicited. Submissions must not be concurrently under review by a conference, journal or any other venue that has proceedings. the paper should be intelligible and self-contained within 10 pages including references and appendices. the submissions will be judged on originality, simplicity, clarity of objectives, review of existing literature, methodology , findings and analysis, conclusions, applications and limitations.

Tech Quiz: Aavishkaar’s Tech Quiz has 5 rounds of intense quizzing, a challenge to your knowledge of the tech world. Tech quiz is one of the favourite events of all engineering students and is a crowd puller. It regularly requires some passionate quizzing. This event is guaranteed to be very interesting, very Competitive and lots of fun for participants and audience alike.

Product Design: The participants will be given an imaginary situation/scenario, for which they are expected to come up with an innovative product. They will have to submit their idea in writing, explain in detail, the innovativeness and the importance of the idea with relevance to the given scenario. the scenario may require them to either develop a product completely from scratch or may involve only innovative improvisation on an already existing idea

Year after year Advaita has acquired an astute following of fans, tracing paths across urban streets to humble village canals. It has been our earnest endeavor to provide a platform to numerous talented students across the world to exhibit their scientific dexterity and managerial acumen and spread the fire within the youth by uniting young minds from various colleges under the banner of science, technology and management. This year the theme being “Save our planet” is very much justified by the very location of the college, Gunupur which is surrounded by astounding aesthetic scenery with the minimum agents to tamper mother earth. With Global Warming being the prime reason of concern, the cause has given us slow but tremendous blows in the form of melting glaciers to the transformation of dormant volcanoes to active. We, through our fest, have taken a step forward in undertaking the daunting task of imbibing a feeling of renaissance in the mind of the youth brigade. This is because of the fact that the youth hold the power to change the course of any action. Our prime aim being uniting all the young minds to join hands and rise in unison to support this noble cause of “Saving our planet”. So this summer let us all pledge to get together with a motto to “GO GREEN” by being a part of this event.
