Ranking of top 50 Private Engineering Colleges of India for 2009

Private Engineering Colleges Ranking 2009

Mint has recently published the ranking of various colleges. They have done the ranking last year as well and there seems quite a turn around for many private engineering colleges listed in the ranking. Following are the parameters on which the rankings have been done (with weight age given to each parameter mentioned in the bracket):

Intellectual Capital (25%)
Pedagogic systems (18%)
Industry Interface (16%)
Placements (16%)
Infrastructure and Facilities (25%)

Few silent features of the ranking are:

BITS Pilani remains at the top with whooping score (2318) far above the next contender IIIT Hyderabad (1971)
There are 40% new colleges made to the list which was not in top 50 last year.
VIT jumped 6 places above to 6 from 12 quite a notable improvement.
Colleges from south India seems to excel over those of north.

Just to point out an anomaly, it is not BITS Mesra, but BIT Mesra, and it is not related to BITS Pilani to be named by the same name. The two colleges were started by two different Birlas. The only other BITS which exist are, BITS Pilani at Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai.

@sonal,@mousmi..i m frm iter and placed in a very good core company and a lot of my frnds study in KIIT,we know how it is in top 20 college...just AD...the rankings are good here in college khabar...see the placement of iter in collegekhabar and then compare with urs and then say whether u want a college with a name or with placement...besides,KIIT is also in deemed warning list,u have nt seen ITER,SUM hospital in ur eye..just come there and then say..ITER also stands now in 200 acres and 5 years younger than KIIT.and its not comaparable any tech college with IITs...just respect the IITs and IITians...

IITKGP is one of the best but KIIT too is not to be neglected.ITER is as such not a bad option but itz now in a hanging position.It has no gud infrastructure and very few gud faculty whereas KIIT has many IITians as its faculty.In KIIT the syllabus collides with IITKGP syllabus and the teaching standard is far more better than ITER.For ur information guys KIIT is now being graded A by NAAC.Regarding placement der is some sort of problem dis year but still the placement is not bad.But I dnt understand y u guys fighting over these silly things.

hey all,ITER n KIIT are the 2 rivals of each other...thats true...but placement is almost same in both college though ITER is better in core industries where as KIIT is outplaying by softwares....besides KIIT and ITER both depends on heavily TCS,Infy n wipro...in ITER the no of placed are 580 but 480 are actually placd rest are repeated...also in KIIT lots are repeated as the core students were allowed in both core and soft....its in every pvt college now a days..besided ITER on-ampus nos are good even in core industries...but in KIIT the core compnies kiit brought like tata power,IOTL etc and soft companies like HCL comnet,CSC,amdocs etc were off drive....ITER should increase its off campus drives so that more pupils can be placed...but overally both colg are gud at placement...however KIIT students job cut ratio is very vast after training thats a truth.in case of ITER its less.....
